The employment of virtual reality by using the MOT (multiple object tracking), allows the person to obtain “The Visual Attention Index" and to train the perceptual and cognitive processes in different fields, providing a wide range of sports and health solutions
THE PARADIGM
The multiple observation of moving objects (Multiple Object Tracking; Pylyshyn & Storm, 1988; Pylyshyn, 1994.) describes the ability of monitoring simultaneously the movement of a maximum of five target objects while they are moving through the visual field. Generally, an equal or a greater number of identical objects are used at the same time as distractors.
Each training session consists of a sequence of exercises in which the person has to select, monitor and recollect the main targets, following the trajectories for a few seconds in the presence of distractors and recognizing them at the end of the exercise. It is a simple exercise that becomes more complex and challenging. In addition, VR-Brain Tracker adjusts a specific difficulty level to each person.
